Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 for the Olympic contest. Bela Karrolyi who was the Romanian gymnastics coach who became Comaneci's coach later in life found her around the age of six. Comaneci competed for the first time at the national junior championships. She finished 13th. Following that, she became champion. The first time she competed in an international competition, which was a preolympics junior competition that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she won 3 gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975, she was crowned all-around Junior Champion. Her debut as a Senior in the year 1975, she defeated Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva, the five-time European champion who won four gold medals and one silver. The year was 1976 when she took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympics. She also was the first female to ever dismount parallel bars using the double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was in her teens she was performing on travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol ventured into the entertainment business in her teens. Early on she was a figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. These shows included ice skating performances that were accompanied by theatrical music.
