Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. Early Broadway roles included Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. Her role as Essie Carmahiel in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in a Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford spent her career collaborating with acclaimed actors and directors across theatre and on television. she is continuing her award-winning project with various upcoming ones. Ashford is next seen opposite Kumail Nannjiani as part of Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will be available on Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford will be seen opposite Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will form the team of creators for the production. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the national security crisis. Ashford was the main character in two seasons of CBS Comedy B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not new to Broadway was awarded both Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character as Essie. Also, she has been on Broadway in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first character as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for the Tony Award. Ashford, who was born in Denver is now based in Los Angeles and New York.
